Regardless of its engine, regenerative brakes improve the M4’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. Mercedes only offers a regenerative brake system on the Mercedes AMG GT 43/63 S E.

For better traction, the M4 has larger front tires than the Mercedes AMG GT (F:275/40R18 & R:285/35R19 vs. F:255/45R19 & R:285/40R19).

The M4’s standard 275/40R18 front and 285/35R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Mercedes AMG GT 43’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the M4’s wheelbase is 6.2 inches longer than on the Mercedes AMG GT (112.5 inches vs. 106.3 inches).
